Resize Pictures for Mobile devices
Smaller resolution images can be delivered to mobile devices
With this extension, the images of your website can be reduced according to the user's screen resolution.
No mod_rewrite is required.
Setting up the extension
- Installieren Sie die Erweiterung
- Open System / Settings
- Scroll to "files and images." There you will find three new fields which are marked with "[responsive_images]."
- In the field breakpoint define the screen width, in which a small image should be created. for example: "480,800,1200,1600"
- If Use Viewport Width is enabled, we use the viewport of the browser to resize the images and not the screen resolution. Please enable for development purposes only.
How does [responsive_images] work?
The first time the page is called the extension sent a HTML page, which refers to itself and automatically reloads the page. This state is stored in the session of Contao. This process is executed only once per session.
Shrinking the images is carried out by Contao. All reduced images is therefore saved under assets/images. Similarly, each breakpoint is cached separately. This means that the cache of Contao is optimally used if it is enabled.
