What is special about it

The Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) has been entrusted with various tasks related to digital accessibility in Austria, in particular for the target group of public bodies. The FFG team conducts regular monitoring checks, prepares monitoring reports and advises website and app operators and users of public websites on questions about digital accessibility. In addition, the FFG coordinates relevant training and carries out awareness-raising activities.

The agency designation was commissioned with a website on the subject of digital accessibility.
The aim was to better structure and expand the content that was previously published on the FFG website on the topic, to prepare it in a more target group-oriented manner and to make it easier to find, of course as an accessible website following WCAG 2.2.

The implementation was carried out with Contao in German and English, followed by Simple Language in a further expansion stage. Since its publication in May 2024, the website has been continuously expanded, including Austria's monitoring report on digital accessibility 2022-2024 as a subdomain at https://monitoringbericht2024.digitalbarrierefrei.at/.
