hummer-menue.de – Website für Gemeinschaftsverpflegung in NRW

What is special about it

Hummer Menü (Hummer Catering GmbH), based in Hagen, Germany, delivers around 5,500 lunches every day to more than 160 daycare centres, schools, care homes, company canteens and holiday and sports camps across North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The new website has to serve very different visitors: facility managers and operators looking for a caterer, as well as parents who want to sign their child up for lunch or have questions about public meal subsidies.

Each target group has its own landing page. The four catering concepts, from Cook & Serve to Cook & Fresh Finish, are explained with custom-drawn animated SVG icons delivered via an SVG sprite. For the GreenBOX, a food station that automatically reheats chilled meals in time for lunch, we developed a dedicated content element presenting its benefits and technical data. FAQs, a testimonial slider and image galleries with lightbox round off the site.

New business comes mainly through a quote request form that asks for period, sector, number of people and contact details in four steps. A contact form with a selectable reason for the enquiry pre-sorts requests from parents and facilities. Meal ordering itself runs through the existing ordering portal, linked directly from the navigation.

The Hummer team maintains all content themselves in the Contao back end. Grid layouts, predefined style classes and repeatable field groups keep editing simple. Uploaded images are compressed automatically and file names are cleaned up, so the site stays fast and tidy after years of editing.
