Ergotherapie Doris Schumann – Barrierefreie Praxiswebsite mit Contao 5

What is special about it

A custom-designed, fully responsive practice website was developed using Contao 5 for Doris Schumann BSc, MSc, an occupational therapist based in St. Kanzian am Klopeiner See, Austria.

The project aimed to create a modern, personal, and trustworthy online presence, providing adults and older people with easy access to information about the practice and its therapeutic services.

The visual design combines natural green tones, generous spacing, clear typography, and intuitive navigation. The responsive layout ensures a consistent and comfortable user experience across smartphones, tablets, and desktop computers.

Digital accessibility was a key priority. The website was developed in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and applicable Austrian accessibility requirements. In addition to accessible page structures, sufficient colour contrast, and keyboard navigation, a custom-built A11Y tool offers additional display and accessibility settings.

Technical performance was equally important. Clean code, optimised images, and lightweight implementation contribute to excellent Google PageSpeed Insights results, achieving near-perfect scores across all four Lighthouse categories.

Privacy and security are addressed through custom solutions. A cookie consent management extension developed by NEO Digital handles visitor preferences, while ALTCHA protects contact forms against automated spam submissions.

Contao 5 provides a reliable and maintainable content management foundation, allowing website content to be updated easily.

The result is a fast, accessible, and maintainable website that combines a welcoming, professional design with high technical standards.
