Autumn is here and with it comes the beautiful colors of the leaves in the forest. But, with each new version, Contao gets an even more colorful set of enhancements.

The last two months were all about the board meeting of the Contao Association and the eagerly awaited Contao Conference in Duisburg. In the following news I would like to look back on these events and tell you how the Contao podcast came about.

Board meeting of the Contao Association

The multi-day board meeting of the Contao Association took place again this year at Markus Peltzer in Mönchengladbach. The following topics were dealt with and promoted by the Management Board: Discussion of current funded projects, Contao Conference, Contao events, CMS Garden, Contao Yearbook, marketing, personnel planning as well as cost and expense allowances. A detailed review on the four days has been written by Thomas, the group's assessor. Thank you very much for your commitment.

Contao Conference

„I wish someone had told me earlier that this event was so great!“

This „exclamation" reached us via Slack, with a winking eye from an enthusiastic conference participant.

All I can say is that she's right! That's why I'll use this opportunity to announce it to the entire community and all future visitors: Whether camp or conference - if it is on Contao it is also in Contao. What does that mean? Contao is not only one of the best content management systems, but also has one of the nicest communities and most beautiful family reunions. So if you do not have time for the next event, I’ll have to say it again: If you don’t make it out to the next event, you will miss something and will be annoyed at the next meet up. By the way, the next chance to meet (again) live with us will be at the Contao Camp in Hamburg.

At this point I would like to recommend the Contao Association to you. The association organizes the camp as well as the conference and is responsible for the use of funds to support Contao. So in recent years, the twice-yearly developer meeting of the core team (2018/1, 2018/2, 2019/1, 2019/2), the development of the Contao Manager and the accompanying Composer Resolver Cloud as well as the funding of the refresh of the Documentation, just to name a few highlights. So, if you are not yet a patron or a member of the Contao Association, we would love to talk about your registration.

Contao podcast

Something's going on. Also in the Contao podcast, where already the 14th contribution is ready for you. Time for a look behind the scenes, at the people who have breathed life to it and are taking it further.

The last Contao Camp in Munich was a home game for Markus, because he has his office with his full-service agency Marxup only a few kilometers west of Munich in Germering.

Reach and awareness of Contao were also a much discussed topic at this camp. During a session, Markus met Simon from the agency Tricksiebzehn from Schwäbisch Gmünd. At lunch, the conversation of the two deepened and many similarities were discovered. From this came the idea to increase the reach and awareness of Contao with a podcast.

On Sunday afternoon, Markus and Simon (their agencies are Contao Premium Partner) decided to put their heads together. The two thoroughbred networkers set out to make their first podcast within the next two weeks, and found plenty of open ears in the community at the camp.

In the following days the design for the podcast was created and the intro and outro produced in the recording studio. The first podcast went live June 6, 2019 under the name "Appetizer" over the air or through the global network. Now it is waiting on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Anchor and all other popular sources to be heard by you.

In the meantime, five months have passed and the two of them can look back on fourteen exciting episodes. The boys would like to thank the community and all listeners and listeners and would be happy if you liked and shared what you have heard.
