The latest TYPOlight build (2.4.2) includes a custom mbstring library that does not require the PHP mbstring extension anymore. Thus, TYPOlight should now work on all Strato servers (Strato is a big German host that refused to install the mbstring extension on their shared hosting servers).

Another new feature is the "listing" extension which allows you to list the records of a certain table in the front end. It includes search and sort functionality, a details view and an autogenerated pagination menu. You can e.g. use the extension to list external data in the front end.

The new build is available via live update.
