The early release of version 2.6.5, which was one of the rare bugfix releases, made it perfectly clear that even changes that only affect one single line may have serious consequences.

TYPOlight version 2.6.4 is available. The maintenance release includes a few improvements of the permission system (regular users can now create news archives, calendars, forms etc.), a new TinyMCE plugin to insert lightbox images and some important bug fixes, thereunder a TinyMCE update to version 3.2.1.1 that hopefully fixes the issue with the rich text editor not showing up occasionally.

TYPOlight version 2.6.3 is available. The maintenance release includes a hardened Input class that detects even more malicious XSS code (e.g. in BBCode comments) as well as an important Safe Mode Hack fix (thanks to Peter Koch for tracking this one down), so it is highly recommended to update.

TYPOlight version 2.6.2 is available. The minor release includes two new core extensions - the memberlist module and the extension repository client - and introduces a new module that allows you to navigate articles as if they were split into multiple pages. A couple of frequently requested features like moving news between archives or an option to define an individual date format per root page have also found their way into the new release.

TYPOlight version 2.6.1 is available. The minor release introduces a new content element named "article alias", which allows you to insert the content of an article into another one. In addition, the newsletter module has been overworked and now supports sending personalized e-mails to registered members.

The TYPOlight extension repository has finally been launched today. The central server allows developers/translators to maintain extensions online and users to search, download and review them. Integration of the corresponding back end interface is scheduled for October, 2008.
